World Cup Brands Field Research Infographic

It is not about teams
It is not about continent confederations
It is not about countries
It is all about Brands

The 2010 Football World Cup was a tournament in between just 8 competitors.
The cup was not the aim of these competitors.
The aim was $

1.     Translate all the country teams to the 8 REAL TEAMS. (Adidas >12 teams / Nike > 9 teams / Puma > 6 teams / Brooks > 1 team / Joma > 1 team / Le Coq Sportif > 1 team / Legea > 1 team / Umbro > 1 team.
2.     Evaluate the evolution of each of the 8 teams during the tournament.
3.     Interfere the evaluation according to the incorporation of data statistics (First data demo statistic > Fouls / Second demo statistic > Goals / Third demo statistic > Passes / work in process -$ budget / $ earned-)

Project | 2009.04 | Private Destination Health Spa -Tripoli, Lybia-

The structure and texture of corals was studied to generate the form and surface of the building. The Spa is envisaged as an opaque gemstone which sits beyond the peninsular of a 7* hotel in an oasis of water providing a unique and exclusive island retreat.
The initial experience of the spa provides a theatrical moment for the privileged guest arriving by boat from the sea. Each visitor is brought into the seawater filled internal courtyard, from where they will embark on a journey through the ramping, sloping form of the building.

Project | 2009.03 | Pattern Regime

Ornament / Pattern / Organization
The systematic and gradually more complex combination of basic elements constitutes
the golden rule of composition of the Islamic city: from its urban structure to
the basic residential component and its technological components.
The project aims to derive a methodology of working from ornament to organization,
starting with Riegl's notion of ornament as the decorative and non-narrative
motifs and forms historically deployed across a flat plane, curved surface, or in
low-relief. Ornament occupies the zone between the purely decorative and the
Ornament is composed basically of decorative patterns.
Patterning can be described as the proliferation of a set of motifs by a series of
localized symmetrical relationships.
The operativity of this propose consist of two parts: the first is an analysis of the
operations of particular pattern samples and the development of a catalogue of
possible geometrical control that makes those relations apparent. The second part
consists in the implementation of this catalogue as a system of organization /
catalogue of operations that can be instrumentalized in three-dimensions and be
indexed by the programm required for the building.

Courtyard Strategy / Middle East city > Context of the Building
The image of the Middle East city, a world of usages and customs still perhaps a
long way from ours, remains that of an intricate web of roads, narrow white streets
in which shade reigns supreme, and where the dense, hidden building fabric
seems only to be touched upon. Yet this apparently impenetrable organism is
disciplined by a precise analogy between physical structure and social model:
religious orders and systematic laws form an intrinsic part of the conception of
urban space and of its use.
Almost all the traditional buildings, from houses to mosques and commercial
spaces are, in fact, organized as an aggregation of cells around the courtyard, the
pivot of all the active spaces.
The project set a courtyard space for the unfolding of the total square meters that
are not going to be used in each floor.
Since thousands of years ago in the Middle East, the courtyard had playd a central
role in daily life, not only in the home but also in public or comercial buildings.
The courtyard lies in the center, where the people do all activities.
The courtyard is a place of gathering and interrelation for the community.

Project | 2008.04 | InfoFIELD

1.- InfoPoint > InfoFIELD
It is not the aim of the project to create an object rather than to materialize a field of information.
A field generated by the constant flows of data that cross through the city and everyday life.
A field that describes a space of propagations, of effects. A continuous field of conditions, moving from de one toward the many, from individuals to collectives, from objects to fields.

2.-39mts. > InfoFIELD
A 39mts. horizontal field space to be colonized by people.
A 39mts. long bench for the Piazza Castello.
A 39mts. poster building to be indexed by information and data.

3.-Programm organization
Programmatic continuity > Linear and sequenced distribution of activities establishing a minimum possible wide for each program were created along the 39mts. InfoFIELD.

4.-System / Structure / Material
A system that creates a heterogeneous “architectural landscape field” in which there is differentiation as well as regularity.
A simple and systematic structure composed by prefabricated beams of composed recycled wood that interlock generating continuous ribs and pallets for an easy setting up/dismantling process.
Variable interlock systems allow natural and artificial lighting on the InfoFIELD.

Project | 2005.09 | Guadalquivir Regimes

Process background
> Difference of degree was regarded in its capacity to engender difference in kind. Researches on redundancy, excess, and intensive constraining allowed linear, superficial, and spatial models to be actively responsive to information.
> Difference was considered as part of their systematicity.
> Primary regimes were constitutes as responsive programmatic accommodation, and constitution of material organization.
> Rigorous yet inexact geometries have been the conditions to the exploration of formation processes. Form was achieved, rather than directly manipulated.
> The incorporation of information to this system intense extreme of urbanization, testing the capacity of the consistencies to achieve further differentiation within their logics through the proliferation and interference of difference across the material components.

System process
> Linear arrangement of 2 water canals branch out of the GUADALQUIVIR river constituting an open logistic of landscape sustenance and organization of shared open space.
The canals were distributed through a topography transformation that incorporates the arrangement of mounds that mediate the actual surface topography level and the river level.
> The system works establishing dynamic negotiations between water and land, territory and building construction.
> The current topography was textured and diversified through a system of triangulation that regulates the water river entrance within the lot, integrating volumetric discretness with superficial continuity.
> According to the different water canal arrangements, differential landscape clusters were created.
Each landscape cluster works as a prototype. A differential prototype that is sufficient robust to accommodate contingency, and that is consistent enough to do so with out collapsing into a merely accidental series of operations.
> Local transformations were established to accommodate infrastructural systems for cars.
> Perpendicular lines to the infrastructure system negotiate the relation of infrastrucutre with the landscape fields.
> The visual permeability of each plot to the landscape field determines the highest level for building construction. The centrifugal traces of the bands scanning configure the influence of openness of the public space in each potential house.
> A completely differentiated catalogue of adaptative housing bands was created.

Project | 2004.04 | Sedimentary Regimes

A landscape-urbanism operative system by which the city of Amposta can address its impending urban transformation mediating building construction and territorial impact.
[Sedimentary process > actions where regroupings and stabilizations of the materials prevail… accretions and agredations more or less located and transitory]

A.- Landscape + Urbanism > constitute a new way of practice where techniques and landscape modes of operation are integrated within the domain of urbanism.
For urbanism, Landscape operations introduce a context that is at once pre-existent and simultaneous to an actual urban condition.
A landscape urbanism operation engineers a unique operative capacity that allows an intensive coexistent between architecture and territory.

B.- Operative system > This system is describable in terms of interconnected variables, such that for a variation in any variable there are changes in all those connected to it.
Urban organizations as this complex system dismantles the idea of the project as a closed object and enables the modulation of such flexibility through increasing rigorous adjustment.

C.- Amposta > The impending urban transformation of Amposta (40% of population growth in the next 10 years), and consequently, their housing demand, can not be responded by a single "body of work".
In terms of housing facilities, this proposal considers that a development of 200.000 m2 of housing and 40.000 m2 of equipment can not have just one answer (The competition lot area represents 1/3 of the current area of the Amposta city).

We propose a system of territorial control. A system by which the developers needs are mediated with the new Amposta neighbours requirement, and them both with the territory.
The proposal was developed as a system. As a complex operative system.
A system that works with material organizations and performs a substance able to integrate negotiations.
A system that reconfigures and prepares the ground to be colonized.  A system that works by a strategy of topography alteration generating a heterogeneous field in which there is difference as well as regularity.

Project | 2002.09 | Colonizing Water

Structural topographies are joined, alligned and networked configuring a field with a large variety of leisure systems from ponds to piers, from parking infrastructure to aquaculture farming. The Mediterranean becomes an open continent for the unfolding of an extensive dynamic ground.
